Locally owned/operated Doggie Dips and Chips located at the Orchards Shopping Center in Loveland Colorado opened in April 1999 by founder Sandy Fiefer. Originally just a quaint self-service bathing facility and treat bakery, only occupying a meager 855 sq ft space, Sandy soon realized there was need for a knowledgeable resource for pet parents looking to provide the very best for their furry friends. So, around 2005 the shop expanded to 2400sq ft, nearly tripling in size! This new growth allowed us to begin carrying high quality dog food, treats, and other USA made products. As such, Doggie Dips and Chips became known for customer service and compassion in an industry of big box stores, which sometimes focuses too heavily on profits rather than a cherished animal's heath and well-being.
In 2011, Sandy retired, selling the business to Donna and Ray Dewitt. Under their ownership, Doggie Dips began offering fully service grooming in addition to the already well-established services provided. Donna and Ray continued to operate the shop until life's adventures called them elsewhere, retiring in 2016.
In 2016, Doggie Dips and Chips future was uncertain, as the owners were set to retire, it was announced that the shopping center would be host to a new Petco location, just two doors down from the established local fixture. Our loyal customers were worried and many potential buyers were scared off by the looming threat of a juggernaut, like Petco, so close. However, across state lines in Albuquerque, New Mexico, two best friends, Brian Curry and Tony Tennant, heeded the call to keep Doggie Dips and Chips alive despite the enormous obstacle now standing in its way. Thanks to their tenacity, work ethic, and continued prioritization of a pet's health over profit, Doggie Dips and Chips not only survived but thrived under their ownership, even becoming friends, and at times working in conjunction, with the Goliath next store.
